Gravitational-Wave Advanced Detector Workshop
Title : Future directions for Laser Gravitational Wave Detectors
In this workshop, we will lay the groundwork for future detectors. Leading the way will be lessons learned at CLIO, in particular, how to work underground and at cryogenic temperatures. The ongoing operations at Enhanced LIGO, Virgo+, TAMA and GEO600 give us an understanding of some of the problems to be faced in building and operating second generation Advanced Detectors (Advanced LIGO, Advanced Virgo, LCGT, AIGO and GEO-HF) and in planned third generation detectors like ET. They may also impact plans for space based antennae such as LISA and DECIGO. The organizers hope that young scientists and students will find the means to attend.
